A familiar name on the North State Orchestral scene, Mr. Quivey is equally comfortable playing for operas and musical theatre. He is on the music department faculty at CSU Chico, Concertmaster of the Paradise Symphony, and a member of the North State Symphony. He studied violin at USC, and holds a B.A. from UCLA's pioneering department of Ethnomusicology. His private teachers were Jaroslav Kasal, Harris Goldman, and Vera Barstow.
Mr. Quivey teaches intermediate and advanced students above the age of about 8. Very young students can start with our Suzuki School specialist, Tori Gillam.
Students of Mr. Quivey have a choice of doing either the traditional classical approach, or focus their interests on a "folk fiddle" style or Mariachi.
